Scuba Diving in Japanese Cargo Wreck, Gorontalo

A Japanese cargo vessel sunk in 1942 after catching fire. It now rests upside down just off the wall in 50 meters of water. Its propeller is within 26 meters of the ocean surface. Two-thirds of the hull leans on a rocky outcrop, falling at a 14-degree angle, until the hull buckles horizontally with the stern resting along a steep slope. The hull bottom of the stern broke off several years ago and is now below 45 meters. The ship's engine area is almost completely exposed with two decks clearly evident.

This deep wreck is only offered to advanced divers, nor encourage wreck penetration.
